Perhaps a little different from the guide's we generally see, however thought I'd share anyways!

 

A simple beginners guide on how to block spam traffic/bots from visiting your website which in turn improves SEO, performance and your analytics results all using .htaccess and Google Analytics.

I like it, I would like it even more if Linus and Luke could get rid of the spambots :P

There is a fine line between one's you need and their situation may be different because of the amount of traffic they get. This is more to stop specific sites crawling the site all the time and isn't for spam posters however I suppose it could apply to a certain extend. But that's for another discussion!

oh the irony, i just had to ban another spambot from my website this morning, Ill look into this

Ironically just had another one appear this morning that required blocked, added it to the list. God I hate spam.
