Best Monster Hunter?

Memories4K

So, i've only ever played the original PS2 Monster Hunter (Which i love to this day) but i'm curious as to what your favorite Monster Hunter game was!

I ask because i really have a craving for Monster Hunter, so i've decided to emulate (After buying the game and loading the ISO and BIOS to my computer legally) so i can enjoy it.

The one thing i dislike is that there will be no online play possible, so that means i won't  have access to items, gear, enemies, etc. only available in online play. Can anyone recommend what they felt was the best Monster Hunter OFFLINE as well?

Please and Thank You!

A lot of people are saying that monster hunter 4 ultimate is the best monster hunter. I personally haven't played it yet because I don't have a 3ds.

My personal favorites are monster hunter freedom unite and monster hunter portable 3rd. Both were fun but if you want the most fun possible in offline than freedom unite is the best :3

I haven't played any of them but I do want to try them. But... I don't want to spend money...

I'd say MH3U

4U has some cool stuff sure but 3U just looks and feels better and I love that I can swim!!

They removed that from 4 and added next level climbing instead.

I do like the new weapons and monsters though As well as the new features...

Nevertheless MH3U is my favorite.

While the first one got me into it, freedom unite and 3u have made it one of my favorite series'. Waiting to get 4u so I can play it on the new 3ds.

Do you have a Pc? If so you can easily emulate the psp games. There are a lot of guides on the internet, I can even help you myself :D

My son plays Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on his 3DS.   He has put easily put in two or three dozen hours.  We also have it on the Wii U, but it is very rarely played.  I'm not sure why, though, because it's my understanding that it's the same as the 3DS version with progress that is transferable between the systems.   I tried it, but my dumb brain found it confusing.

He also tried the demo for '4 with one of his friends and he liked it.

I think it's pretty safe to say that the newest one on 3DS is the best thus far.
