How to use the Steam overlay in Uplay games

NeatSquidYT

Hi,

So with my GPU, I had the option of choosing a game from a list of 3. I chose The Crew. When I downloaded it, it was good. I like it. Then I tried to add a non steam game to my Steam list as I HATE UPLAY UI. Didn't work. I eventually figured it out. I'm going to tell you how I did it.

1. Add a non steam game BUT NOT TO THE GAME YOU WANT, direct it to Uplay.

2. Right click and go to properties. This isn't necessary, but it looks stupid if it says "<INSERT> is now playing Uplay". So, rename it to whatever. I appropriately named mine "A Uplay game - I despise Ubisoft BTW". Click OK.

3. Launch it and choose your game and voila! You are now playing a game in Uplay with the Steam overlay!

Same thing works for Origin too :)

Ahh, thanks for that :) That'll be useful.

Except remove the "I despise..." part. EA isn't all that bad anymore...
