Nvidia shield tablet needs bigger screen...

WhiteSkyMage

Id love to buy this tablet with the X1 chip on board....but dont you guys think nvidia should go on and increase screen size to like 9" or possibly have a version of this tablet with 10-12" screen size?

Those nvidia tablets will be surpassing performance of consoles in the next few years, and will probably be going to higher resolutions like 1440p, but gaming on that small 8-inch is just meh!

What do you guys think? Lets demand a larger screen for the 3rd gen nvidia shield tablet.

Depends what you want to do with it I guess. For a daily driver, 8" is a pretty good size. Maybe 9" max in my opinion.

The smaller the screen is would probably keep the performance at a peak level, I don't know, just a thought.

Downloading programs from CNet is not a good idea, as they will commonly include unwanted, and sometimes dangerous bloatware... The more you know.

Well its made for gaming so... You wont always have a 1080p tv or monitor everywhere you go to plug it in... 8 inch is about same size like ipad mini... Would be good to have a version with just bigger screen...

The bigger the screen size and resolution of a tablet, the better it is for gamers (max 12inch) and the higher capacity battery it can hold, also increased cooling... Anyways...

Yeah but bigger than 12" already turns into a laptop...even 12" is big...macbooks have 11" 13" screens. Something like 10" for tablet seems fair...

I have a 10" Tablet and I don't feel I can go smaller, for home use (couch procrastination) it's great, and for outside/desk use it's perfectly fine. A tablet is not something you should be carrying in your pocket and using in the bus.

Agreed, i intend to use it as you do...but oh well... I cant change Nvidia's project ones they're on it. Better demand before the new chip is out...

I used to have a 10.1" tablet and switched over to the shield 2 months ago. At first it seems small but once you get used to it, it's really not all that bad. I think 8-9" is the perfect size for a tablet because you have a large enough screen to game and consume media on, but at the same time is still portable enough to comfortably carry everywhere.

i think the size is ok, i own it so i know..But what they could do is keep the body size and jank it into  a 9 incher because there is room left around the bezel. id be ok with that.

Slightly thicker would not hurt..and maybe a metal body?

  • 4 weeks later...

I would really like to see it being 9 inches, but it is fine at the moment.
