NVIDIA Sends Press Invitations To March 3rd Event, Teasing A Gaming Product '5 Years In The Making'

abhay6547

If you're wondering what NVIDIA has been working on for the last few months, you'll only have to wait a few more weeks to find out. The gaming and graphics company has sent invitations to technology press, including Android Police, for a presentation on March 3rd. According to the email, NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang will be demonstrating something "5 years in the making" that will "redefine the future of gaming."

Looks to me like they're going to announce a new Android tablet. I hope it has even more streaming options to follow up to the Shield tablet. Maybe there's a possibility of increased Nvidia GRID integration?

Doesn't sound like fixing the 970 >.>. Just kidding

Probably not going to be that big, but can't really speculate anything.

The 970 isn't "broken", it was just misadvertised.

Downloading programs from CNet is not a good idea, as they will commonly include unwanted, and sometimes dangerous bloatware... The more you know.

redefine the future of gaming? I wasn't aware the future of gaming had already been defined, or needed redefining. Maybe everyone is looking forward to the current future of gaming, and Nvidia wants to mess with our hopes?

I wonder how many people are gonna ask if it's to reveal a GTX 980Ti. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Shot through the heart and you're to blame, 30fps and i'll pirate your game - Bon Jovi

Take me down to the console city where the games are blurry and the frames are thirty - Guns N' Roses

Arguing with religious people is like explaining to your mother that online games can't be paused...

Titan II, G-Sync 2.0, or a new device based off X1.  2 of these I want to happen, 1 of these I'd rather they just not bother.  In other news, I hope their stock breaks $21 and stays there :)

If it is a GPU and it is groundbreaking, my wallet is ready whenever. I just hope that we can have a chance to trade in our 970 and get a massive discount.

What do you imagine G-sync 2.0 would do?

A large portion of me does not give 1 single fuck about anything they have to say or do unless it involves the words "we apologize for lying to our customers about the 970, and furthermore apologize about our lie about why/how that happened"

Even without a refund, they still need to apologize.

Yep, especially if it was a miscommunication. They haven't really said anything at all, apart from the fact that the GTX 970 is designed to work the way it does.

We do not sell cosmetics. We just blind animals."

Which is neither an apology, or acceptable. I understand market segmentation, but don't make a nice product, and then go "shit, this is TOO good, let's fuck it up a little", make the next tier better, OR, go back to the drawing board and make that segment a little less good.

What they did, feels like sticking a 120mph speed limiter on a nissan GTR. "yeah you got this really powerful card at said price, ignore the fact that we intentionally fiddled with it to make sure that it can't outdo the next higher product"

The difference between a lower starting point, and a higher starting point with a leg cut off. And for those that would attack my opinion (which is what this is), I am the customer, according to "open market" rules, the customer is always right. I am going to buy another 970 for triple monitor gaming (which IS a little hypocritical, but I already have the 1, and am past the point that I can get an RMA so I really have no choice), but that will be the absolute LAST dollar Nvidia ever sees from me again, for the rest of time, unless they outright admit to wrong-doing. That's all I really want at this point, for them to say "you know what, we lied, we fucked up, we're sorry"

"PhysX didn't work"

"3D Vision didn't work"

"Our competitor did G-sync better" (?)

"Gameworks only exists to make games run poorly on our older video cards and AMD's video cards and offers no visual benefit."

What will the minds of Nvidia think of next?

Hopefully its the Nvidia GTX 980 ti 8GB or the Nvidia GTX 990 8Gb but it will probably be something that I' not interested in.
