That's a sweet board, if I was making an socket 2011 build this would be the Mobo of choice. Too bad no CF

That 24 pin angle is indeed well done; I hope right angled 24 pins will become more standard, just like right-angled usb 3.0 ports are becoming.

I really do Like to see right angle connectors on boards it makes them look so much better. I want to do a noctua r4 build with this board with a 690 or a 7990. Probably a 7990.

I have been hoping for more boards to implement angling like this to make it easier to build, because have right angled CPU and 24 pin connections on your mobo would make building with that board so much easier and convenient. Thumbs up to EVGA for stepping up and getting us one step closer to this feature being standard.

Not the first time EVGA is using a right angle 24-pin, I'm surprised not many companies are adopting it too... This would look pretty epic with some mobo waterblocks :).

I would probably say by just looking at the board in the pictures that it is the best mobo in the x79 series. If only we could get this board with an 1150 socket for Haswell because that would be a must buy.

I seriously hope no one is considering buying an EVGA motherboard, they really shat on themselves last gen. IMO they should stick to graphics cards, I'd rather have Foxconn/ ECS/ BioStar than EVGA.

Yeah it may look nice, but I am counting on it to be riddled with bugs.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

I agree, it would be smarter to buy from a company that actually makes motherboards mainly, like ASUS, MSI, and GIGABYTE

plus, who cares about X79 when X99 is on the horizon :D

  • 1 month later...

It is, so sexy. Let's hope next-gen games make use of more than 4 cores. It gives me a reason to pick up a 4930k for my build later this year. And then I can get this sexy board.

| GPU: GT 650M | CPU: i5-3210M | Excuse my language, sometimes I can be pretty vulgar.

This board looks pretty nice imo except for the E heatsink on the chipset. The heatsink on top of the cpu socket looks pretty bulky imo so it might interfere with bulky cpu heatsinks.

It's a shame it doesn't have a single PCI slot at the bottom of the board. My sound card is PCI, but I guess I could always buy a new sound card.

Most people will run a lot of graphics cards which will cover up the chipset heatsink anyway :)

Yeah I don't like the style of the VRM heatsink either... I don't like the heatsinks in general on this board, but oh well.  I like everything else.  The expansion slot layout is pretty much perfect too.

If only it had a PCI slot then I would buy it. It's too bad my sound card is PCI otherwise I would buy it and get the Ivy Bridge E processors when they come out. I might still get one though and get another sound card.

if you have enough money for sandy bridge-e, you can afford a 30$ xonar dgx pcie sound card
