I got a single stick of 4 GB for my first build last year, still in use today, they messed up the order and gave me an extra stick of 4 GB as well - also relatively low-profile, so my 212 EVO didn't clip it!

 

If I had the funds, I would go for an 8 GB stick right now to help run a RAMDisk.

This would be even better, and it's nearly the same price! Crucial Ballistix Sport Very Low Profile 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR3-1600 1.35V  This is the low-profile, low-voltage (1.35) version! I own these and they're very small, so no worries about interfering with a CPU cooler.
