Hey guys, So had some awesome advice on PSU's thought I'd ask again on Screens.

I got told by mates that the new top standard was 27", but cause of budget i'd be doing a entry level 27" with just HD.

So after a bit of reading I see people are going for 24" for gaming, Now if I'm able to go 24" i can prob step it up to a 1440p monitor, Its going to be running through a 970 and later SLI 970.

24" 1440p isn't really a thing. I think there is only one, announced by BenQ a while ago and still hasn't released. Same with the 25" 1440p Dell and Acer models, neither of which have released either, at least not in the US. Those are the only sub-27" 1440p models in existence :)

If you're going to wait for one, the Dell U2515H is probably the one to wait for. It has an MSRP of $500 though, if that makes a difference.

EDIT: Never mind, the U2515H was just released in the US. http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&sku=480-ACRZ

see this is why I'm asking, The last time I had a gaming machine 17' was the standard and 19' was a dream.

I didn't know 24" don't get 1440. guess than just better to go 27" HD screen.

Well, there is one 25" 1440p (see my edit above) but it's the same price range as 27" 1440p monitors :P Although I prefer the 24"-25" size anyway. For a 1080p 27" the Dell P2714H is a good option, or at the 24" size the Dell U2414H is a great monitor.

It's not really that bad, it's only a little bigger than 24". Plus it depends on how far away the monitor is from you which will be different from person to person.

@JAKEBAB & @Glenwing so straight up.. Should I buy a 27" or a 24" I don't know anything about the new ones.

If I go 27" its a basic phillips HD screen. If 24" I can go for higher up features. Which is more worth it and better for gaming. I will also be doing the odd video editing.

Well as Glenwing said distance from the screen does play a factor but if your going to be sitting at a desk being pretty close to the screen i would get a 24".
