I trust Sweetwater with ALL my music stuff. If you're ever in Ft. Wayne, I recommend going to see them in person. But Auralex Wedgies should be fine for cheap foam.

Edit: I just realized you meant that kind of acoustic foam. I'm gonna shut up now.

NO NO NO NO on the edit! I am looking to make a motor run quieter. But $100 is out of question way to much! I more in the $20-$30 range :P

I didn't even think about egg crates! something like this? http://www.amazon.com/Duro-Med-Convoluted-Hospital-Size-Blue-Inch/dp/B000EWVPCQ

Anyone know if eggcrate foam is even any good noise cancelling? (kinda new to this whole noise thing ;) )

For Pro use? No.

For what you're doing, it should be fine. :D

Where exactly are you using the foam for? Wall? PC?

Remember a wise man once said, "You'll most likely hear/see more bad reviews from products than good, because if they get a good product, they won't bother to write a review, and if they got a bad product, they'll complain about the product" ~ SoftenButterCream

The most affordable and best quality sound foam I've seen to date is still Foam Factory, the price of their products are very fair compared to many competitors. I'm not sure what your planning this for but there are a variety of cuts, shapes and thicknesses they can provide.
