I forgot to add, when the GPUs are there, cpu runs only 2 cores

I think... That the cards are actually working. They are just really, really slow.

They are four year old mobile GPU's?

The CPU only folding with 2 threads is normal. The other 2 are being used to control the GPUs.

As for the GPUs themselves, are they shown as being under load in something like afterburner or GPU-Z?

i attached an image with the GPU. I dont know how old they are, the laptop is 2 years old

No afterburner, no GPU-Z, no anything

I used to run folding@home 2 years ago, no problem then

I'll switch them on for the night and check logs in the morningpost-187300-0-14586800-1422754834_thumb.

I just remembered.... I think my graphic card was 6770, not 6750. There is a chance my drivers arent working properly.
Any idea if there is another way to check which one my graphics card is ?

that is quite the peculiar setup you have... to say the least. Do you

know what laptop you have?

if i understand this correctly... the 6520g is some integrated graphics?

aka an apu, while the 6750m is your dedicated mobile gpu. It looks

like there might be some confliction between the two. Maybe it isn't

configured properly

How are the  slots configured? did you do it manually or let the folding

client decide by itself? You could try just folding on the 6750m and

forget about the apu for now, not sure how it would deal with the

deadlines though.

I have a hp 6100 pavilion (smth smth smth)

yes, 6520g is the integrated graphics card.

I've folded before, 2 years ago, but since then the pc has been formatted multiple times and the client has changed considerably.

The folding client decided by itself about the configuration.

How do i set it to fold only on the 6750m ?

Please do not fold on a laptop 24/7 if you are using your laptop daily.

You can either just pause all the other slots manually, or I think you can remove certain slots from here:

I think he is obsessed with battery maintenance for some reason,

even in a 2+ year old laptop :P

As exting said earlier, try to delete the 6520g slot and try to fold on

just the 6570m, if it still gives you the same error you can try to

manually add the slot and experiment with the indexes. Try both

0 and 1 opencl index on the 6750m while keeping the cuda index

on -1.

configure > slots > start editing/experimenting.

Ask if you cant figure it out, but you will probably understand once

you find the options.

Yeah battery plus heat, i recommend that you will have to buy a passive dock cooler to push extra air in to the laptop.

Not always about that but if he is using his laptop for daily usage why make all those trouble folding on a laptop?  he is better of folding in the chrome app than the actual client itself. once the onboard gpu is fried the laptop can be thrown away. Because the component is soldered.
