Best Gaming Monitor

Nirhahs

First of all, sorry for my english.

Im planning to upgrade my monitor and target Dell to be my next monitor. But Im in a big dilemma right now since there are so many models for Dell Ultrasharp such as U2412M(oldest), U2413, U2414H and U2415. Which one should I pick? Im an enthusiast gamer but watching movie sometimes. Some of my friends suggesting me TN Panel is good for gaming, but I prefer Dell because of the warranty services. But, you can also recommend me other brand and my budget is around 300$-350$

It really depends on what you game, if you're hard and heavy into fast paced competetive FPS gaming, then a monitor with high refresh rate is idea (TN-panel), TN doesn't have usually have as good colour reproduction that IPS/PLS panels have. Ips monitors have a higher input lag, but it dosen't matter if what you're gaming isn't very fast paced.

Linus can Explain the rest :)

No. TN is just crap, looks disgusting.

Its a common misconception among people with limited information on the subject that TN is somehow "better". It isnt. Long ago it was, when IPS couldnt do more than 60hz. Those times are long past.

You want to really enjoy games? I suggest you wait a month for the 29um67 = 29" IPS, 2560x1080, 75hz, freesync... and its right in your budget. Maybe you need to save up another 50$ just in case, but thats it. Just be aware that you will become incredibly addicted to gaming with that.

It also depends on what type of games you play. Some are catered to MOBA/RTS, others to FPS at 144hz. More expensive ones have the features for all of them I think, but pick based on your preferences.

I told you, get the 29um67 in one month. You sound like the perfect case for it and its in your budget.

It will be the best choice you will make, and you will never realize how lucky you are of not having to go through a bunch of monitors until making the right choice.
