Forgetting My SSD

jakosuzuki20

right so i have a major problem with my ssd solution. i live with my mom in the week and then my dads on the weekend and i take my monitors and peripherals back and forward every time i go (which is a massive hassle i must add). so yeah the problem is that because i have the same hardware at both systems at each house i take the same drive back and forward with me (which i may add i no that isnt the best solution!) but i keep forgetting it so i was wondering how much it would effect thr speeds having it in a usb enclosure or if anyone can think of a different solution?

thanks guys

the easiest thing to do would be to buy an SSD for each system on its own :P... not necessarily the cheapest i might add

Hey jakosuzuki20,

If you get an enclosure with a USB3.0 port, you shouldn't be noticing the difference as it supports speeds up to 5Gb/s or 625MB/s which is more than the max speed of the SSD. If you use a regular cable (not a too long one) and the computers have USB3.0 ports, you should be fine with the speeds.

As the guys mentioned, you could have a dedicated drive in each computer, and simply link them over the internet to transfer whatever data you need shared via some method (iSCSI, NAS-like, etc.). :)
