Upgraded my kit in January and took it on its first outing at the auto show. Pretty happy with the image quality (Sony Xperia Z2 is my backup)

:/ well i thought they were a bit cheaper. I'd get the Sigma 10-20 for 370€ instead.

I have a generic kit lens for the Nikon, as I usually just rent specific lenses for it when I need to. I'm getting rid of a lot of my camera gear and putting it all back towards drones. Might downsize to a 7D Mark II and nothing else.

EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens (some older version, so not that good)

EF 50mm f/1.8 II

Some random cheap 10€ tripod from the 90s. Get's the job done, but too flimsy for video recording.

 

However I don't really use my gear a lot. Can't bother hauling everything while I'm running to places, so I keep using my phone (Samsung Galaxy S2)

 

 

Formerly used for photography:

 

Sony HDR CX260VE camcorder (yes, I used to use this for photography). Now it get's rarely used, like once a year for recording the christmas play in high school (they are still using a random miniDV camcorder, so... Something better, I suppose...)

 

Aiptek AHD AF1 cheap POS camcorder. It has been sold over a year ago, as it sucked for both photography and video recording (can't maintain 30 frames per second for 1080p recording, not even for 720p recording).

 

 

 

Looking to upgrade either to (second-hand) Canon 600D or (second-hand) Sony DSC RX100. I still have to find out how does RX100 perform while recording videos, but otherwise I'm leaning more towards RX100.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

Update to my gear: Sony DSC RX100 (mark 1) arrived today. Bought second-handed as usual, it's just like new, thanks to the former owner buying it as new in mid-2014.

 

Still keeping the 1000D as a backup camera, but might try to sell the camcorder (Sony HDR CX260VE) for our high school; they are still using a miniDV camcorder from early 2000s and I have loaned my camcorder for them to use a few times.

How are you enjoying the Rode Videomic Go?

 

Its decent, just ordered the deadcat and rode boom pole go for it :D hopefully will reduce wind noise

also have an adapter to use it with my iPhone which is great, 

 

 

When I get some money together (after my new lens) I will be getting some better audio equipment, for now its 100000000x better than on board mics and will come in useful as a  spare, as a second mic or just as a boom or iPhone mic
