I seriously wish I boarded the R9 290X train instead, these cards are so cheap and my motherboard doesn't support SLI...

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

Huh? I thought you weren't a fan of the 290x from the other thread?

I don't dislike the R9 290X, it's just not a quiet or cool card lol.

Honestly the way I argue about the 290X, I'm starting to see how people think I fanboy. I'll be honest, if I could have gotten the 290X with a decent cooler for the same price as my 780, I'd probably have a 290X right now, but this was back when the prices were $550 and $500 (I got my 780 for $400).

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

Anyone who owns this card. Is this card UEFI compatible out of the box? Or does it need to be flashed to be UEFI compatible?

I'm asking this because I'm selling my GTX 770 and my Wii U and getting two of these beats for my rig.

No I sold it to pay for the second 970. If I had better spacing on my board I would of gotten a second lightning probably. If I had money for a custom loop I definitely would of gotten a second lightning

I was actually going to buy this 290x for $299, but it went off of sale the day of purchases...

And I'm still having driver issues with my 970... :(

There are plenty of non-reference 290X's that run cool and quiet. My friend has this exact card and it runs 69C during unigine.

I'd recommend a GA-Z97X-SOC. With normal spacing, the cards almost touch and the top one hits 90C easssssssily. But, with the SOC you can CF in the first and third slot, which drops the temps significantly ;)
