Keyboard and mouse don't work in windows

Nanomine

After I boot into windows my mouse and keyboard stop working.

They work in bios though.

I don't want to reinstall the windows so that option is useless.

Also I have tried ps2 mouse and keyboard, they don't work either.

I was wondering if I can replace the driver files from other PC ,but I can't find path for drivers of particularly mouse and keyboard.

Did you unplug your keyboard and mouse and plug them on a different USB ports?

Are you using USB 2.0 or 3.0? Use 2.0 ports.

What is your anti-virus?

"Even" doesn't answer my USB question. I don't care about PS/2. I believe I know the problem, but I need answers to my questions, before drawing to conclusions.

If you go in Safe Mode, once there change you keyboard/mouse USB ports or try on the PS/2 port, does it work there?

Did you try Windows System restore to bring back the system in time where your keyboard and mouse worked?

Can you remote desktop in some fashion to your computer so that you can use the system?

So what I thought it was, is that Avast had a false positive and thought that the keyboard and mouse Windows drivers is a virus and deleted them, so now you can't use either, and Windows can't get any drivers. It was corrected quickly (too bad for the affected people), as it seams, but you have AVG.

i cant give any input so there's no chance i can restore system.

How I'll run the remote desktop software(ex.- Team viewer), so this option didn't worked for me.

but my doubt is i cant even use P/S 2 ports to control and as far as i know P/S 2 ports don't require any drivers to run, also that port works in bios.

Help me!!

A couple of questions. First do the controls work in the bios? Try booting into Linux and see if that works. Try restarting. Do you have the install cd? Stick that in and see what happens.

Edit: didn't see you said it works in BIOS
