780ti - Upgrade or get another?

Hi,

I've been looking to get either another 780ti to run in sli or hold off for the next generation after the 900s and just get 2 of those reference cards.

780ti - One main issue I've been having is it seems to be overly expensive to buy them and the options nowadays seem to be far more limited on brands.

Currently running a stock EVGA 780ti. I am not having too many issues with the single card currently but would just like a little more of a boost sometime in the future.

Basically wanting to see what people views are, if its worth a straight upgrade or wait for the next set.

Location: UK

Specs: See sig.

Cheers,

Andy

SNIP

In the same boat

honestly, the simplest option seems to be just getting a second 780ti, they perform very much like a 980 most of the time

You have a 1080p 60Hz monitor, do you really need to upgrade? :S

If you are going 1440p it's tough, but I'd just get another 780ti if you could actually find one for a decent price.

4k I'd go 980's without a doubt (if you really want the highest tier Nvidia cards)

Yeah I fully get where you are coming from. I am looking to move up to a 1440p 120/144hz at some stage once the prices become a little more manageable!

Also, as nice as matching cards would be you probably wont find one for less than £400.. I would get this. http://www.scan.co.uk/products/3gb-gainward-gtx-780ti-phantom-28nm-pcie-30-(x16)-7000mhz-gddr5-gpu-boost-1046mhz-cores-2880-dp-dvi-

It would be nice to having matching cards but I also don't quite like the sounds of that card.. to get what I'm looking for I'd more then likely need to pay the premium for the more known brands. The card linked I've heard isn't a quiet runner and with the rest of my case being silent I wouldn't like this to be the deciding factor that started making noise :P

Any good websites for buying a new 780ti? Especially the EVGA?

Also.. any clue roughly how long it would be for the next gen up from the 980? The 1080?? lol

Thanks for the feedback people :D
