Is Ryse Son of Rome any good?

Well I wanted to get Ryse son of rome, but want to know if it's good and worth it for £15?

It is repetitive but I think it is also a gorgeous game with great art direction.

Bought it cheap at the end of last year . Didn't think much going into it, but was surprised.
Pretty much all combat in game like this or assassins creed have quite repetitive combat systems. (at least that I have played) So I'm willing to discount that as a negative.
Looked pretty decent on xbone (what I played it on), hopefully would look better on PC if you crank the settings up.

It's worth $20 which is what I paid. It's not a long game and there is little replay value but I didn't mind. Best looking in game foliage ever, very efficient temporal AA overall it's a very good looking game. Ryse wasn't plagued by issues most new titles seem to suffer like chromatic aberration, blur and texture issues. PC version was done right, it's not as demanding as recent AAA titles have been.

It's a looker, that's it.  If you want to be a legionary...well you won't be one cause you fight nothing like a real legionary (admittedly legion tactics is a bit boring if you're not a war history buff like me) The setting is unfortunately very underused and really needs more love.

I enjoyed it, replay value is average,some collectables, achievements/unlocks and I got bored of sitting around in multiplayer as it seems there aren't many people playing it, not a month ago atleast. On normal it took around 6 hours to complete the story without searching for everything as I was pretty drunk. haha. Visually it's a good looking game.

 

The story imo is really good though, that alone made me start it again on the harder difficulty. 

 

I enjoyed the combat but as people have stated, it was abit repetitive. I got mine when it was on sale and don't regret it

Just a graphics demo, gameplay wise its very boring and repetative, but it has it moments, story and setting are quite decent too.

It's very repetitive both in the gameplay and the character model variation. There's only 4 or 5 different models for enemies so you often end up fighting 5 of the same guy at once. The game looks great, and focuses on a cool era in history, but other than that I can't really say anything positive.
