mSATA drive invisible in laptop

Hi, i have in my laptop (hp envy touchsmart 14'') a 32gb mSATA ssd and a 500 gb HDD. I believe the ssd is used as cache for the system. I would like to buy a larger msata drive and use it as the boot drive and keep the hdd as extra storage.

However : I do not see the ssd and hdd as seperate drives in windows.

if i remove the mSATA ssd, computer boots fine, if i remove hdd and keep the ssd, computer does not boot.

and for some odd reason i cannot access the bios or boot device priority.

Thanks

So the only way to get better performance is to swap the 2.5'' HDD for a 2.5'' SSD and keep the mSATA cache drive?

Hi,

Were you able to fix this and make the ssd on the msata visible and boot? Im looking into a laptop and hp envy 15 is one of them and this would be a plus because i definitely want to make an ssd upgrade on my next laptop
