AMD EYE FINITY

So I recently bought a R9 290 and was quite happy with it for what I needed it do but at the time I only had 2 1080p monitors and when games launched they would only take up 1 screen at the time I said screw it I like having something open on the other window any way, Well I got a 3rd monitor recently the exact same as the others. When I try and play games in full windowed mode they still are only going on to 1 screen, I read some where that I NEED atleast 1 Mini-DP to run Eye Finity I also read some where that I can get an adapter from hdmi to Mini-DP and was wondering if this was the way to fix the issue before I throw another $50 or more dollars down the drain. I'm currently using 2 DVI and 1 HDMI for my current set up if any one was wondering and has a fix. Thanks

you cant use both DVI's and The HDMI, You can use one DVI one HDMI and one Display Port! What ports will be noted in the manual.

to run eyefinity

you def need to use the DisplayPort

and you must use the active DisplayPort adaptors

passive will not work and are a waste of money

if you dont mind paying more

you can go for DisplayPort MST Hub which supports 3 HDMI ports for 3 screen gaming

I ran eyefinity with a single r9 290 with two DVI and one HDMI - the graphics card has three clocks.

two ports (one dvi and the hdmi) share a clock (at least in the r9 280/x and lower) so those two have to be exactly the same resolution and refresh rate. aside from that any R9 card can run three screens over DVI/HDMI combined.

I have an r9 280x arriving today in the post I intend to run eyefinity over DVI/HDMI with three screens...
