[MicroCenter - US] i7-5930k for $499

xeromynd

Was very surprised to see that a Brick & Mortar store has prices CHEAPER than Newegg.

The i7-5930k is selling for $499 at MicroCenter (retail store pickup only it seems) as part of their "DIY" (or something) sale event.

Compare this to it being $579 at Newegg and you've got yourself a rather good deal there.

MicroCenter always has cheaper CPUs than any other place. A 4670K is usually 190 while some other place it's around 230. A 4790K is around 250, while it's almost 300 somewhere else. Also if you buy a flagship CPU, you get 40 bucks off a motherboard.

Had never heard of MicroCenter before last week when I found out I live only one hour away from one, and drove there to find myself in heaven.

Amazon does seem to have slightly cheaper prices, but I'd trust larger companies more than some 3rd party sellers on Amazon.

Now THAT is enticing, and I'm sure as hell looking into it now. Thanks

Not only that, you also could get 10 bucks off RAM, SSD, HDD. They try to make all of their other stuff competitive if you were to buy everything from them. They change the deals every now and then. I remember you could get 10 bucks off a 1TB WB Black, 10 bucks off a 256GB 840 evo, etc.

Well this is great news, hopefully I can get a nice deal for CPU + MOBO together. Would get RAM there too, but I'm still waiting for some low profile all black or white DDR4 to come out. Really hoping the HyperX Fury DDR4 they showed at CES is released soon.

Generally speaking microcenter is only really good for the CPU + Mobo combo. I've had to price match every other part of my build to newegg, frys or amazon.

so if you live near a micro center then your lucky but like the 98% of the rest of us we are up a creek.

your better off with Amazon

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00MMLXMM8/ref=sr_1_1_olp?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1422465669&sr=1-1&keywords=5930k&condition=new

Those are all super sketchy

They've all got like one rating or are brand new

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it
