ATH M50 replacement ear pads?

RevoltTrain

I'm looking for replacement ear pads for my ATH M50s, I am looking for either velour ear pads or memory foam earpads. What do you recommend?

I am listening to my M50's with velour ear pads as we speak. Bought them for myself for Christmas. Best $25 I've ever spent. Like having mini clouds on your ears

I bought these, but they seem to be out. try Sound Professional's website, they may have them

Alternatively, Shure makes both leather and velour pads that apparently fit M50's. Theyre cheaper than the ones I got too.

I edited my original post right as you posted that :D

I got them from Amazon. Sold by The Sound Professionals, although they do not seem to be selling them anymore. You can check their site (edit: link to ear pads - http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/item/AT-135409020-VELVET)

Velvet Shure pads - http://www.amazon.com/Shure-HPAEC840-Replacement-Cushions-Headphones/dp/B002Z9JWZS

Just a heads up though, since those earbuds aren't made for the M50, they may change the sound signature. For that reason, I'd go with the Sound Professionals one. The Shure pads are options if you don't want to pay as much/don't have enough/not in your budget

What made you pick up the red ones? I just picked them up because you never really see red headphones

Yay! Getting stuff because it's different!

Do you like your AMP / DAC? I've been looking for one and I can't decide to get that one or the Monoprice AMP / DAC

Well, I mostly got them because they were cheaper.. I just told myself I was getting them to be different. :D

I assume you mean the E10k? I don't have much experience in audio stuff, but I like it. The detail is really nice. The soundstage could be a bit wider, but I'm not complaining. For what I paid it was pretty dang good. I would recommend it. Don't know anything about the Monoprice one, so I cant comment there.

Yeah, the E10K, I've only got two questions about it, does it have a 3.5 mm output on the front or a 1/4 inch? And does it get power via USB or from the wall?

1. It's got a 3.5 output

2. I use it on my laptop. It powers normally through USB. It comes with a micro USB cable

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MFDX4YO/

They are considerably more comfortable than the stock ear pads.

They also have pleather memory foam pads in other colors

I was about to buy some velour ones but I'm afraid about the sound difference. I like the isolation, and I need it.

I use earpads from a branwavz HM5. They're thicker, so if you had trouble with the drivers being up against your ear this will help that. It made them sound clearer to me, but i'm no audiophile so take that with a grain of salt.

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

Just a heads up.  I bought those exact Shure ear pads for my M50s.   Yes, they fit, but no where near as an exact fit as the OEM ones...  They are loose and are easily pulled off unless you keep them on there somehow (I used those fabric covered rubber bands girls use to hold their hair) or are very, very careful.  Finally ordered some other replacement ones through Massdrop.

I seriously need you to answer me a question. I just got my m40x, the thing is they sound great and all but they don't cover my ears like my other headphones, plus they're not that comfortable(my ears touching the drivers. Question: Are those ear pads really bigger than the oem ones? Can you take a picture of them both? Man you'll do a man happy if you do that! :D

Edit: I'm sorry, I need to clarify, I mean the inside, is the inside bigger? like more space?

They are for sure a good bit thicker and the diameter is larger.

I have to press down on the cans with the new pads I have before my ears will touch.

Here are a couple quick pictures for you compering the ones I have vs the stock pads.

I put a quarter in side the pads for a couple shots to give a better idea of size.
