Don't give into the "gaming" branded things.

legend8887

Don't give into the "gaming" branded things that make them twice as much as they should be. Also, don't spend too much on things that won't give you much better performance like a motherboard. I've probably spent way more than I should because of that.

Just a word from the wise. :)

I though this was common sense, although there are the few exceptions.

Intel Core i7-5820K (4.4 GHz) | Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB  | 2x 360mm Custom Loop (Noctua iPPC) | ASRock X99 Extreme6 | Samsung 840 EVO 250GB | Fractal Design Define S | Corsair HX750 | Windows 10 | Corsair M65 RGB PRO | Corsair K70 RGB LUX (CherryMX Brown) | Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro & Creative Sound Blaster Z | Nexus 6P (32GB Aluminium) | Check out my setup: Project Kalte Here!

So you're telling me the Gaming Coasters I bought from Amazon for $50 aren't going to improve my CS:GO performance?

Nothing will help you improve your CSGO performance :P

Only kidding dude, you're great.

Or just waste your money on whatever you want. And not all gaming things are bad, HyperX Clouds for example.

yeah, I try to avoid buying Razer products, and anything else that markets itself as "gaming" for more money.

graphic cards and motherboards are probably an exception if they aren't overpriced.

R9 3900XT | Tomahawk B550 | Ventus OC RTX 3090 | Photon 1050W | 32GB DDR4 | TUF GT501 Case | Vizio 4K 50'' HDR

With older hardware motherboards made the difference.

That old P8Z77V-LX is nothing compared to the Z77X-UP7 i have now. VRM and build is far superior on the UP7. And that lets you hold a high clock/voltage stable for benching.

I always wonder what I'm missing by not having an expensive Corsair keyboard or gaming mouse. I have a cheap $30 Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse I bought 7 years ago and it still works great for playing FPS. It's still night and day better than using a console controller, which is I guess my point of reference.

You're missing a great aluminum frame and mechanical keys.

If it doesn't have flames it wont help you.

I just like gaming mobos because of their colors, they look alot better in black, red, blue, etc than a non gaming which is the weird default green color.  You also don't need gaming peripherals, but any mechanical keyboard and wired mouse with a good sensor and some extra buttons should work.

My exception to that is the RGB Corsair Keyboard. I want that.
