Sennheiser HD 598 vs Galaxy S5 earphones.

So at first this may seem like a ridiculous comparison, but I have a reason for posting this. So my earphones that came with the Samsung Galaxy S5 are pretty broken, the cord is messed up, the right earphone wont work, and the left earphones cap came off so putting it in my ear really hurts. I got a malfunctional Razer kraken 7.1 Chromas, so I am gonna return them and get my money back, and I wanna know, which of the audio devices mentioned in the title sound better? To be honest, the galaxy S5 earphones have the best quality I've ever heard. I am looking to use my new audio device for music (Rock metal etc,since I hate dubstep, bass isnt important in the least.)  and skype, and I also dont have an amp atm, so dont compare the quality based on amp quality, and only on the quality if I were just to plug them in directly to my computer, thanks in advance!    Im also looking into the Sennheiser Momentums, so if you can compare those three I would greatly appreciate it!

Anyway the Sennheiser HD 598 will be worlds above anything that you've used before.

As I've not used the HD 598 then I can't give you any meaningful information between the two.

All I can tell you is for the price you can not get better headphones, however if you have extra money to spend then there are better. MKBHD Made a very good video about these headphones a while back:

Well, money isnt the issue. I have Amazon prime so I can get the M50s for $140 and the 598 for $150. Ill try doing some research to find out which one is better

Neither is "better", they just have different sound signatures and use cases.

 

If you prefer more bass, the M40x (not M50) would be best. If you prefer a more hi-fi sound or listen to a lot of acoustic music, 598.

 

If you are on the go, the Momentums or M40x (not M50) would be best. Otherwise, 598.

Galaxy ear buds?!?!  I disliked them so much that they went back in the box and I don't even know where they are now.

M50 (40x), closed back.  Don't leak much sound in or out, smaller sound stage, more bass.  No detachable cable on the M50, they are detachable on the 40x/50x.

598, open back.  WILL let sound in and out, larger, more "airy" presentation, possibly not as much bass impact.  Detachable (replaceable) cable.

System: i5 6600K@3.6 GHz, Gigabyte Z170XP SLI, 2x8 Corsair DDR 3000, Corsair Hydro H60i cooler, Rosewill CAPSTONE 750w Gold PSU, 1x 512GB SSD, 1x 2TB 7200RPM, Windows 10 Pro x64

Are you looking for portability? 598's are open and not good for going out and about.

I sit in my room on skype with my friends all day, portability doesnt matter.

Why does no one recommend beyerdynamic cop @-@

Look at beyerdynamic custom one pros

Heavy in the bass punchy and the highs are just mmmmuaaaahhh

I own them so first hand perspective

Just the mids abit screwed but it wont matter to you as your listening to dubstep.. No vocals :-)

Did you even read my post? I HATE dubstep, its complete garbage so bass isnt my priority in the least.

All music is just meaningless garbage noise when you think about it.

 

I've transcended audiophillia and now just listen to silence with earplugs.
