how to get out of Iphone recovery mode

RainColt

my friend put his iphone in recovery mode but has never backed up his media and is about to loose all of his photos, I've tried everything I can and have been trying to get things like Tinyumbrella working but have had no luck, so how do I do it, It shouldn't be this hard

Why do you always die right after I fix you?

Try holding the home button and power button. If not plug into iTunes.

Is his photstream photos or any of the automatic wifi-backups to his iCloud setup and running?

Tinyumbrella isnt working? Thats some serious recovery mode. Has he tried holding the home and power buttons and attempting to put it into DFU mode? Sometimes, putting it into DFU from recoevery will solve the issue.

Holding the home and power buttons just loop me back into recovery mode and iTunes just repeatedly prompts me to restore

He's an idiot and i don't think he knows what a cloud is, i can't get that info from him

I can't get Tinyumbrella to run and yes I have tried to put it in DFU

Oh, you can't get it to run? That's different than not getting it to get out of the restore mode.

Try reinstalling it. That program is your best bet.

Other than some third party apps software that may take it out of recovery mode or help backup the data it's not possible to get released from that any other way, unfortunately.

I never tried it but I've heard of recovery-ipad.com, seems legit but you never know I did try some other software a while ago when I reformatted my PC and had to transfer my music library I think it was this, I remember it was from lifehacker, there is an option for photos:

Sometimes Tinyumbrella can be a bitch if not configured properly, and it's hard to tell what's the issue without actually being at your PC. I would just take it to an Apple store and ask them for professional help.

Restore your iPhone. ...

The point is to not have to restore it. That would delete all the data on the phone.

well initially it was prompting me for JAva, so I installed it and now it sort of starts the program but hangs up, kinda like trying to run a windows program in WINE that isn't properly configured.
