[Rumor] BLX to buy AMD

Welp, 2015 is here and AMD may actually be changing ownership. Chinese company BLX has been rumored to aquire AMD. Seeing Rumors for this kind of stuff have usually been true and AMD's stock shot up when the 380x was seen on retail markets, it may have attracted BLX's attention. However, BLX has a market cap of 1 billion, not that much so it might actually decrease AMD's revenue even more as it is a company which is highly in debt and worth 2 billion+

I've never even heard of BLX until now, I liked the idea of Samsung acquiring AMD more.

The rumor link in one of those links lead to a 404 page - that wasn't even the wccftech one. Rumor is the word indeed, will need more concrete evidence before this gains more credibility. Not sure how to feel if true, but if AMD gets more capital to play with for better products, this might give AMD new life.

Not just that, Samsung has pools of money, and don't they have a 14nm fabrication process in place? Or something along those lines.

It's fine. My point was this is definitely a rumor till proven otherwise. Personally, I'd prefer Samsung to have some stake in AMD instead. Never heard of this BLX like others until now.  :mellow:

RUMOR: I'm planning to buy out Nvidia

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

Rather, instead create a separate section for rumors only and unconfirmed articles (like OCN).

that'd work too.  Then people could post whatever they want and fanboy out, while the rest of us stay out of it.

So much AMD news/rumors ... I think this wont happen. I see no reason for AMD to do this when they are just about to relase their new products. Samsung thing is possible but I think that wont happen either.

For those of you unaware, BLX is a cover company hiding the real owner of a conglomerate umbrella which has major stakes in MIPS Technologies, Texas Instruments, and ARM Holdings. Don't believe me? Do some sniffing around the Chinese stock markets and who it files with in the US.

To say that a company becoming interested in buying another company doesn't come from simply one product release (especially a product that has about a yearly release) and a little jump in the stock market. It comes from a idea for long term growth with the original company with what the other company can provide them with.

Well I'm pretty sure AMD have been talking up their next generation of GPU as well as stretching the time release window because they want to sell out.

 

The GPUs aren't actually going to be any good, and the cards may as well be released right about now.

 

Same with the Carrizo mobile-only bullshit. All it is is trying to look better than they are, for long enough to get bought up.

 

IMO.

 

Anyway, if 3xxX series is going to be as good as they claim, they will be debt free in a matter of months. If your company is about to become debt free, acquisition rumors (2nd one now) don't randomly start popping up.
