GTX 970 micro stuttering

the pokemon kid
Go to solution Solved by the pokemon kid,

I found the answer!!! It is to do with windows DWM. I had turned it off by not using an a aero theme!

Watch this if you are having the issue as this guy gives great details to what the problem is and how he fixed it!

Hey guys,

I have been running my little system (Betsy) for the last week and I have noticed that it will micro stutter. I have been using it to watch netflix/ youtube videos and playing some games (Trials evolution) and there is noticeable stuttering compared to my 650ti boost! I am obviously not happy with this but I wanted to find out what I can do to sort this problem out when I get home tonight!

I have got the latest driver installed for the card and the computers drivers overall are all up to date. The card is running 28-30 degrees C idle depending on ambient temps in my house...

When I did the last driver update I did a clean install of the drivers too

Do you get micro stuttering while watching videos in chrome?  Do you get it while watching videos in IE?  I know you might hate me for asking you to watch some in there, but give it a try.

I've experienced (and experiencing) very similar micro-stuttering while watching video in chrome with my Gtx 660.

It is very frustrating!  Especially when you watch videos that pan.

I get it in both browsers as well as Opera and firefox! It is annoying because it is distracting! It happened a lot when I was watching sherlock holmes the other day when he was throwing clothes about, really big and really noticeable tearing on that specific scene...

Watch  your VRAM usage when it happens, as the 970 is currently suffering from an issue with stuttering when vram usage goes above 3 gigs-ish.

Glad I did not get one.

I dont think it is that... watching the memory used section in GPU-Z shows I am only using 341MB...

I have got adaptive V-sync turned on in Nvidia control panel and triple buffering. What else can I try to get rid of this problem...
