From my point of view the R9 280x is better, 3gb of Vram is needed when going Ultra nowadays.

2gb is still acceptable though.

My next GPU Must have Atleast 4gb of Vram, Preferibly 8.

Well, it depends on price. If you are willing to pay for a 290, see what fits inside your budget.

Gigabyte, MSI, Sapphire, these are all good brands

The 280x is a bit better than the 960s and the 290 is better than the 280x.

So yes.

But if you meant sli 960s then I am not sure, it is kinda close performance to 970 so I guess it is stronger than 290 but in that case getting a 970 would be better.

Your S's at the end of 290 and 960 confuses me, I am not sure if you mean more than 1 of them or if it is just a typo.

Would you say that 290's are better than 960's?

The 280x is already better than the 960, let alone the 290.

Yes, it's much "better", raw performance-wise.

290's absolutely obliterate 960's, it's really not even remotely close.

Nvidia's pricing with their 960 is laughable imo, go with a 290 if you can, if not, a 280x. Both are significantly better.

RIP in pepperonis m8s

Tell us your budget and we'll nail the answer for you.

My budget is around $800-850, I'm in Colorado, and I already have a 240GB HiperX Fury SSD. And the budget is just for the PC, but I don't need a case. ( I will only buy the case once I'm back in Brazil)

A 290 by itself is almost twice the performance of a 960 so by all means get a 290.

I had a powercolor 4870 and a powercolor 6950, had no problems at all with either of them.

R9 290 all the way. It is the current best bang for you buck. It offers comparable performance to the 970, great price tag ($250 or less), and great technologies. I know it is a little bit power hungry but it is definetly worth it considering the price. Also I am kind of dissapointed with NVidia because of the issues with the 970 so do not feel like trusting there specs anymore.
