I will say the Creative Aurvana Live 2

many are surprised at the price and the performance of these headphones

and it pretty light and the memory foam covered in soft leather is comfy

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

Beats by Linus.

No, in all honesty, the ATH M50 are a budget favorite of mine.

Cannot tell you how many times I've put them in builds for friends... (TWICE!)

For under $200 I would get the ATH-M40x instead of the M50X because the M40x is pretty much the same as the M50x just without all the bells and whistles.

Hi there. Move along, n0thing to see here.

K612 Pro is possible, although it might need an amp to get loud enough for some people.

Otherwise, we've got the DT990 from Beyerdynamic or Sennheiser HD 558. All open back.

What kind of music first? HD558 is a safebet. DT990 and grado appeals to a more niche listener

There are a lot of good headphones being recommended here. I personally like my NVX XPT 100. Very good sound stage and very comfortable. You can also buy Brainwav's velour earpads which fit the XPT 100s.

I believe the dt 990s would fall into this price bracket, they would be nice.

Bleigh!  Ever hear of AC series?

Nah, no warning post for me. Also, stereotypical answer deserved stereotypical response :P

It's a good option for closed portable. There are also DT770, DT990, K612, Q701, HD558, AD700X from U-curved sounding, to flat sounding to treble happy, there's an option for everything, all sound really good
