Asus Gtx 750 Ti Strix OC or...

rl249

I'm looking for a new silent GPU that supports around 3 monitors ( not totally necessary )

I've been looking at the strix series, however, I have heard some reports that the fans don't spin up under regular use (web browsing, 1080p Youtube etc.) but do fire up for any game (including CSS). This sort of puts me off, I wan't my to be as silent as possible even during gaming.

Is this card going to do the best job for what I want? A silent pc that will be preforming basic tasks, but then a light bit of gaming, or is there a better card ( within the price range of the 750 )

For 3 monitors i think a 750 STRIX will spin likely, also while light use. I would go for a 960 instead. But on that card 1 monitor would work.

On 960 i´d recommend the STRIX and the MSI Gaming 2G on 750 the ASUS is very good.

750 Ti would be okay with that, just turn the fan speed down when it starts spinning.

A 960 would be a great option too! I for one, really like the GTX 960 G1 Gaming from Gigabyte. You can get the Twin Frozr and the Strix version too if you want.

You want fanless operation under load? Wah--?! You won't find that with ANY card. I'm sorry to tell you that.

What you could do, is getting a MSI/Asus gtx 980/970 and playing on very low settings. Games such as LoL can be played without fans spinning, if done that way.
