Oh lol, I thought I saw this exact thing at a shop in a mall in Malaysia, turns out the store had some pretty enthusiastic modders and went ahead and did this for themselves already :P

It's #00001 though, which none of those are.

I really hope you're being sarcastic. The purpose of the sale has nothing to do with platform supremacy, it has to do with the funds going to a good cause.

And damn, someone can build a good PC for $0.065 USD.

People should start selling their #475298034 PS4. There's only one #475298034 PS4 ever. That must be worth 130k as well!

pc specs: 4 function calculator / 8 digit lcd display / colored numeric and function buttons

I know this is the only one, (IMO) but 130K seems crazy for a PS4.

Here's the thing, no one wants to be #475298034. Everyone wants to be #1, that is, except for millenials.

I'm not saying it's not, but at least it's going to a worthy cause.

Not really, it was the very first console to roll off the production line. Believe it or not there are people who collect anything and everything. This console probably went to a private collector that will house it in a glass case in his in-home museum. Where it will forever hold the label as the first 20'th anniversary PS4 ever made.

Hate all you want but no one is hurt by this, someone wanted it and was willing to pay $130k, Sony got some publicity, the charity got heaps of money. All seems good to me.

Who has 00420?

Anyone who has a sister hates the fact that his sister isn't Kasugano Sora.
Anyone who does not have a sister hates the fact that Kasugano Sora isn't his sister.
I'm not insulting anyone; I'm just being condescending. There is a difference, you see...

People don't spend $130,000 for a console to play it.

Doesn't matter. I am sure it will be turned on sometimes. No one spends that kind of money and doesn't show it off by at least turning it on.

It'll actually retain more value if it's not powered on at all. Especially if it's left in its factory sealed box.

Well it's not in the box anymore now is it.

What makes you think that?

How else would they photograph it outside the box. Unless the box is invisible. But then the cardboard box would be worth more than the potato itself.

Yes, but two things.

1) This had the serial number 00001, it was the first of the bunch.

2) Proceeds went to charity. People were likely a bit more willing to get a bit higher in their bids.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.
