Ship Advice

CommanderFett

So, I currently own a Drake Cutlass Blue, a Drake Herald, and an Origin Jumpworks 325a.

The Cutlass Blue I am not willing to melt or modify. It is the ship I will be primarily using in the verse, solo or multiplay. Has 2 year insurance.

The Herald is a mission- specific ship, also one I am not willing to melt or modify. Also has LTI.

So that leaves the 325a... What I'm asking is what I should do with it? I don't want it, but I can't melt it because it has my only Alpha slot. I was thinking about using it for escort missions/dogfighting, but I don't like the ship. I want to ccu it, but the only thing it can currently ccu up to is the M50 and the Hornet. Should I wait for other ccu's to become available, or should I suck it up, melt the package, and purchase module passes as they come?

nah, wait for the cross chasis's to come out. otherwise you'll shell out for the ship, and then have to shell out more for pases, and still not be able to use what ever else you pick up till they get the cross anyway.

Cross chassis it when you can OR melt it and buy Arena Commander pass for $5. Probably have to spend additional $5 on each module when they come out too though so all up you'd lose $25 if each module costs $5 for alpha access.

I'm in little bit the same situation. Although I still like my alpha 325a, I don't know what to do with it. Compared to the other ships it seems... meh. In the end, I will probably do nothing as I also still have my Connie, though.

You haven't said what you'd melt it for. The way I see it is you have a ship that for whatever reason you don't like and you either want to swap it out for something that can't be flown yet that may also suck or something that can that leaves you with an Aurora, avenger, Mustang or Hornet.

And the only upgrade that you can get is the Hornet.

The way I see it is better the devil you know.

If you like the hornet you can do the ccu to hornet and another to super hornet. This way you gain a strong dog fighter for running combat missions.

I'm just not sure if it makes any sense money-wise.

I'd melt it for something more combat related, for running escort missions and such.
