[UK] Asus Radeon 290 on amazon

KJaboski

While going through my daily deal checking procedure I have stumbled on this.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Radeon-DirectCU-Graphics-GDDR5-Express/dp/B00HOW1Q46/

290 from asus for £208. If it wasn't for it's power consumption I would go for it myself.

I would, I love my 970, but it's overkill at 1080p. And at 4k, two 290s is very similar to two 970s, should you decide to go down that path in the next year or so, saving you even more money.

I'd say go for it man ;) Personally anyway :P

Quick question, do you think there is a big difference between the two cards if the cooler is taken out of account?

Bleigh!  Ever hear of AC series?

Apart from the cooler cards will preform almost the same on their stock clocks, also overclocking ability aside is the PCB that will differ. I'm 100% sure asus has their own pcb but not entirely sure if sapphire uses reference or custom, also what you can look into is warranty and customer support for both brands in UK.

Shame about the awful cooler.

I had one... For 24 hours, I call bullshit on the cooler. It idled at 38-42C and full load at 75C. The reason why mine died is because a mosfet exploded when it was idling. Not from the VRAM or core.
