GTX 960 or R9 280

Which one should I go with, and which model?

The 960 only has 2GB which may not be good for the future so...

Thanks in advance

R9 280/x.

As for the particular model you should get, it depends on your regions pricing; but anything form MSI, Gigabyte, Asus, Power Color, Sapphire, or XFX is good. Just don't get a reference cooler.

what are you playing and at what resolution?

Any game at any settings will run at least the same with R9 280. In most cases 280 will be faster, especially with a slight OC to 280X speeds. This while being cheaper then 960 as well.

The GTX960 is more expensive than the 280X in my country. For me the 280(X) is a no-brainer.
If the 960 is cheaper than the 280, then it's a good option.

Another good option for 1080p, it would be a used gtx770.

What is the wattage on your PSU? Is heat a concern? Does your MOBO support SLI, crossfire, or both? For raw performance with no questions asked I would

say the 280 but if your PSU is a sub 500w or your gaming in a tiny case, or you plan to add a second card eventually than the 960 mayyy be the more viable

option. Always research all the circumstances around buying your hardware.

Neither. I think you would be better off paying 50 more bucks and getting a 290 with way better performance and also newer technologies.
