Samsung or LG monitor for 1080p gaming?

Hey so I'm looking to finish up my (pretty-much high end) gaming rig setup by choosing just the right monitor...i'm not going to

drop below 27" and 1080p and I've two good-looking monitors in mind for purchase...

Samsung LS27D390HS/XL

LG 27MP35HQ

The LG has an IPS panel while the Samsung is a PLS panel (which I think is a pumped-up IPS, correct me if I'm wrong).

The LG's got a 5,000,000 to 1 Contrast ratio while the Samsung has a 1000 to 1...I know you can't come to a conclusion with these figures because

the LG's isn't probably the True ratio. Still if you've got the info, let me know which one displays the better picture.

Both have a response time of 5ms which is very good and as far as I know...it shouldn't pose any issues with ghosting or otherwise.

LG is known to have a HDMI port while I can't find the connector info about the Samsung - HDMI or DVI? Do they come along with the monitor?

One area where I'm lost is the refresh rates (not even sure if that's the correct term)...Samsung has 60Hz and I don't know about the LG. Is that

good enough for high-end gaming with my MSI GTX980 (Gaming 4g) card, 16GB DRAM, MSI Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard and 4th gen i7 OC-unlocked processor? I would be playing almost all the latest, high-requirements games including BF4, GTA 5, The Division, Witcher 3 etc.

Please, provide any information you think could be helpful to let me choose which monitor to take. I personally have my heart on the Samsung but

I'm not taking any chances and decided to consult the experts.

Save some money and go 1440P. Or go for higher refresh rate 1080P. Both monitors are 60Hz screens. The samsung actually has a model the is HDMI and DVI and another that is HDMI and VGA.

A  lot of company's use Samsung as a OEM, same for LG. At a pro level neither are on par with someone like Dell, but different prices as well.

Sadly there is no 1440p that fits my budget (and i need to get this rig ready by February-end at maximum). Let me know if there is one at

around the same price as these two monitors.

Where does the refresh rate actually come into play? Will it affect my FPS during gameplay?

As far as the connector goes, I guess i should be okay with a DVI (if i don't have a choice) or should I really look for HDMI specifically?

27" 1080p looks blocky. You will seriously benefit from 1440p or 4K at this size.

Any good 1440p 27" monitor at this price range?

No idea. You'd have to tell me what price range, location and currency that is first.

I live over in India...but to make things easier to count, the LG monitor I mentioned costs $250 in the US, I'm willing to stretch my budget for monitor to 3,000 more, over & above

what that monitor costs here...so if you could suggest something in the $300 range I guess that should make sense for me.

You can go up to monitors in the $400 range maximum. Anything higher and I'd have to wait a couple more months for allowance, which I can't.

I know a rough conversion isn't all that accurate, but if you can suggest a model, I can make the calculations with my local online dealer or showroom.
