Which games run better on multicore CPUs?

staykov

As we all know, most games don't run well on multicore CPUs, because they are optimized for Y2K hardware (wtf?)

Could you be as kind as to post some games that are known to be well optimized for multicore CPUs like 5960x and so on?

I'd love to try them.

I dunno if there any that really benefit  from that many cores... I'm curious about which games leverage more cores though. :)

Bleigh!  Ever hear of AC series?

like all games its not like u are going to get the same performance as on a single core cpu compared to a quad core cpu just some game use more cores than others you should be able to run most games just fine

Some games like battlefield 4 and Crysis 3 will benefit. But unfortunately there are still a lot of poorly threaded abominations being released.

past 4 cores you wont see any benefit in games, clock speed will help after that.

Its all about those volumetric clouds

If only Intel released a sweetspot K seriesTriple core @ 3.4Ghz Base /w 4.0Ghz Turbo

Games would love them, and be cheaper than the i5 line, I think people would jump on them like hotcakes.

You could use a new product stack name, i1=Pentium/Celerons, i2HT = current i3 /w HT, i3 = a New Triple Core, i4 = current i5's, and then i4HT = current i7's

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Hmm too late for that now. They should have done i4 triple core ages ago

Why do you think an "i4 - 3 core" intel would be cheaper than an i5?
