Dragon Age: Inquisition

Well, some mods is better than no mods. I will try out the game, and stop arguing please, I asked you guys to compare Skyrim with this game, some might have different feelings. But from what I can tell, it is generally good experiences everybody has had with DA:I

Sorry about that.

Comparison:

Skyrim

Combat:

Action-based, focused largely on individual clicks of the mouse along with potions and preparation with spells. Excellent archery.

Story:

Not the highlight of the game but still not bad. Many people go without doing it at all.

World:

Open world.

Characters:

Needed a lot of work in my opinion. Very bland characters. That said, characters were not the point of the game.

DA:I

Combat:

Third person or top down pause-able hot-bar system with control over 4 characters.

Story:

Excellent if a bit predicable for those who played the dlc from DA2. Good contribution to the series as a whole. Good world.

World:

Hub-based with several nodes with varying degrees of "openness" and amount of quests.

Characters:

Excellent characters. They feel almost alive. You feel for your allies.

They have almost no comparable features or mechanics whatsoever, aside from the fantasy setting.

Is it worth getting it? I quite liked skyrim, and if it is just close to anything like Skyrim, it sounds like it is worth it.

The reviews seem to be weird around the web, so I don't trust it, and I don't like having spoilers from watching lets plays, so far I've only seen the beginning.

RAM: HyperX Fury 1600MHZ CL10 2x4GB      Storage: Samsung 850 EVO(250GB) + WD Red(2TB)      PSU: Corsair RM750 (and no, it hasn't blown up!)

Yes. Get it.

If you like d Skyrim, you will love Dragon Age: Inquisition (and Origins, if you haven't played it yet). They have great stories, good characters, fun gameplay and great graphics.

It is worth getting. It isn't anything like Skyrim.

It has some issues, but good game overall.

Then what would you compare the game to?

And which kind of "issues" does it have? I am fed up with Ubisoft games that have "issues", would not like to spend more on games that don't work.

In what way are Skyrim and DA:I/O even remotely similar aside from the fact that they all have swords/magic. DA:I isn't an open-world game.

I'm not sure.

You control 4 (max) characters, can go top-down to play it as a strategy game, it has many "open-worldish" nodes that are each fairly large (the first being the largest to make you think that they are all huge and filled with quests). It is very story-oriented, unlike Skyrim, and has an awesome crafting system.

Issues would be optimization, various (generally small) bugs, and clunky PC controls for 2h warrior.

It looks alot like open world though. How do you access missions then? I really like open world games where you go where you'd like, and take your time

It is not open world. You have a main hub that you use to access the war-table and various areas. Each area is rather large and you have free-roam, but not large enough to call open-world. Even the devs don't call it open world.

Don't get me wrong, the game is really solid and I really recommend it.

I see, a bit like an updated Might and Magic?

Can you describe the crafting system? I have always been the rusher that never researched on crafting, because it was too complicated.

Also, does it have support for console controllers? I am thinking of buying an xbox one controller.

Alright. Explain your login. Why would you like DA:I if you like Skyrim? You can't say that unless they have similar traits that are enjoyable in both.

Is it needed that I try out Origins first, as in I need to learn from that to understand inquisition properly? Or can I just go to Inquisition?

The game is 30£(300 danish crowns) btw

Sorry but it really just looks like you are saying "good video game"

Not a big deal though.

Also what good characters or story does skyrim have? I make personal mods for the game and have many hundreds of hours in it... There are very few characters that aren't bland. The main story is short and somewhat uninteresting.

You can go straight to inquisition. Check out the DA Keep first to get a recap.

Although I highly recommend origins, it is one of my favorite games of all time.

I liked the story of Skyrim, but definitely will say that the story of some mods in Skyrim was better.

OP

I seriously suggest you give it a shot. If you liked Skyrim, you will love what DA:I has to offer. :D

(Agreed; some modders deserve a spot on their writing team.  lol)

Oh wow you are so easily offended and butthurt.

You said the generic points of a good game.

If you like skyrim you will like bioshock infinite is just as relevant as what you said.

I read what you said. It was just stupid. Sorry you are so sensitive.

Some mods are out. People are still working on it. Little more difficult due to the engine. Whereas bethesda released the creation kit for skyrim.

Good world.
