I am planing to build my first PC. There one thing I am very confused about is the power supplies. No, a decent 750w is already plenty for that.

Do not use psu calculators--they are generally unreliable. Stick to power draw benchmarks instead.

A single quality 750 watt PSU will be fine for that.

850W is perfect, in my opinion.

I use 750W and while it does work, I feel I'm really close to max capacity under load with overclocks on my 780s.

Single? Like he'll use 2 PSU's?

Anyway, that is correct.

As others have pointed out, PSU calculators are silly. A quality 750W PSU will do the job, 850W if you really want to be safe.

Anyway, that is correct.

That used to be fairly common in high end rigs. Google tandem PSUs if you're interested. And yes, it can still be done if you really want to.

Thanks guys! I didn't want to buy 1000 watts power-supply.

My first choice is Corsair HX 850I High performance 850 watts. Do you guys recommend anything else?

The HX750i is already more than enough.

If you link us to where you're shopping, could suggest alternatives.

EVGA G2 850. Really nice PSU, all japanese capacitors as well. It comes with sleeved black cables and it's fully modular.

Most of the psus I'd recommend are overpriced and out of stock at Microcenter.

I'd recommend going with a 750B2: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-110b20750vr
