another 4k or 1080p

night5talker

hey guys

can someone tell me is this good tv? http://www.digitalversus.com/tv-television/lg-40ub800v-p22227/test.html or should i get something bigger in 1080p

still have CRT and will replace it soon enough...

LG have some actions for 5 years warranty, any other trade i can look in to? for long warranty and not so breakable (like my warranty is out next day TV will die or something)

EDIT: is 4k even worth on 40-42" tv?

Are you using it as a monitor or viewing it up-close? If so, then the 4K res would likely be worth it. If you will situate the TV far away, then get a larger HD screen. :)

It seems to be your in the UK and looking at for a 4K TV then you should take a look at Richer Sounds website at it seems to have a few 4k TV's.

This one I linked is a LG 42" 4K TV for £499.99 with a 5 year guarantee with it.  There might be a store near you witch can go in and check it out before buying it.

My 4k TV is 50" and I sit about 8 feet away and the picture is so awesome even when I watch old TV that's 480p

Seeing as you still have a CRT I assume you keep your TV's for quite some time. In that case I would definitely get something in 4K. As MKBHD said, the future is progressing towards more and more content in 4K, so if you're buying a TV now to keep it for a long time then definitely go for 4K.

  • 2 weeks later...

If you use it as a TV at a regular living room distance away, no... Not until you are in the 65" range

Oh look, A thread that explains everything you need to know about 4k

*Removed my previous "use the search" rant remembering that the LTT search isn't working lol*
