What Do I Need?!

I know very little about cameras or what I would need for my specfic siuation so all advice is aprecaited. I am trying to really push the social media side of my football (soccer) club and want to make quick minute videos with things like player profiles, go to tricks, etc. Love the style that you see from like Nike but don't know what they use both camera and editing software. We have a GoPro which is nice for specfifc situations but am looking for more of a well rounded camera. Thanks for all advice in advance!

I dunno much about video so I'll bite my tongue on what you need.

What I will say is be prepared to be producing nothing like nike. This stuff isnt easy I know photography isnt im entirely self taught and what..im still learning...6 years later. If you have no formal education I reccomend setting realistic goals rather then hoping for something like that just to come out disappointed.

You'll need lots of light, F2.8 lenses, lots of time/skill and know what you want your final product to be like with realistic expectations.

on the nike video crew level:

-crew

-multiple camera's

-lot's of lights

-software

-powerfull systems

-skill

-knowledge

-money for actors/sports people

-experience

-money for location and props

stuff they have on guess:

-cinema lenses

-cinema DSLR/mirrorless(think canon 100C or black magic cam's)

-crew for food, clothing, make-up, props, gear, camera control, script working etc.

-high end software, after effects, photoshop, premiere pro, sony vegas and that kind of expensive goodies

-lights, light diffusers/reflectors

all that atleast, their short commercials take roughly 1-3days to shoot if it contains a technical trick form someone like ronaldo orso, if you add up the script writing and editing you can easily add an other 2-3day's each.

for sports the gopro is pretty well rounded(unless you are willing to buy a EOS 7D) in the worth of quality, weight, sturdiness and form etc.

edit:

incase you life in the US of A, you might take a look at https://www.lensprotogo.com/ if you want to plan one or a few days of shooting with the whole team, you can rent everything you might need there for not the most expensive price(IMO) to ensure good quality of footage, altough it's not really recommanded by me unless you plan to make serious use of it(due to prices of some parts)

for software i would go with a little illegal way called torrenting(which we aren't allowed to promote, and which i wont) if you have a need for the high-end software, but as said before, we aren't allowed to promote or mention that.

May the light have your back and your ISO low.
