intel sells one but its 3.65x more expensive because intel...

Well, either way, I'm quite happy to see a $60 CPU with that much single core performance.

Without this, anyone trying to get into emulation would have to spend loads of money.

not into emulation my self (other than epsxe, though i still have my ps1...)

still got a g3258 recently, nothing ive come across is single threaded so i'm not expecting much but it makes for a good itx lan rig, currently waiting on an msi z87i itx board which is on sale for £60 at scan but last night they bumped it to £65 just as i got the money and it still has the "sale" banner on it :angry: (not a happy bunny to say the least)  was still cheaper than a intel rig for the money.

I'm hoping the MaxMem test just didn't like the FX's memory controller. Otherwise it is indeed pretty poor.

Do benchmarks such as Cinebench scale arithmetically? e.g. Would a score of 2 equate to twice the performance of a score of 1?

Yes, it's based on time taken to render the image, so 4 is twice as fast as 2, and 8 is twice as fast as 4 (etc).

Wow this really shows how shit the FX chips are :P

 

I know it's on hold but would you be able to test stock speeds too?

 

To show performance increase of overclocking.

I could I guess, we will have to see :)

 

I hope to get back to this project once college is done.

 

I'll need to acquire a replacement 4690K though mine kinda degraded into nothingness so I sold it to help pay for my car :P
