Chose the top Haswell-E CPU because if you are going to go haswell-E you need to go all the way.  A 5930 would be like a really hot girl inviting you up after a date and all she wants to do is watch TV.  Its still nice but come on,  who wanted to really watch TV :P

3x EVGA 980s.  I always go EVGA for nvidia cards.  They have great service and support and their cards are usually rock solid due to their relationship with nvidia and such.

I chose 2 850 evo drives.  One for the OS and one for your most common apps or games.  THe 4TB WD black will be plenty for the rest and still offers solid performance for a HDD.

The case is the key part of this build.  Chose the S340 because I love that case.  It does have some flaws though and that is the paint is not the greatest on the sides and front and even worse on the top.  So we are going to custom paint this bad boy.  Satin white on the side panels and the PSU shroud as well as the cable hider panel.  They will then be top coated with a metallic pearl to set it off nicely. The top and front will be painted oil rubbed bronze to give it a really nice contrast to the white pearl sides as well as give it that little touch of elegance.  The mother board tray left  black.   The 850 EVO's should set off really nice against the PSU shroud painted white with that metallic pearl finish.

White cables throughout to contrast with that pure black motherboard and black ram.  As well the cryorig cooler is plenty enough to handle a mild 4.4 overclock and will set off nicely with the white elegant top contrasting against all that black and complimenting the cables and white accent strips of the GPUs.

The white carbon fiber is simply to cut into strips wide enough to hide the logo work and give a little contrast on the sides of the GTX 980s.

I figured its not too hard to meet or beat the technical specs of that alienware rig.  We all could do it.  I wanted to do something custom here with custom paint and a nice themed white and black look inside and out here.  The system will still outperform the alienware system and it will look a heck of a lot better IMO.

No watercooling, so i went blower, and i needed some more lanes than the 5820k would provide, so i went with the 5930k, only for the lanes. I went with a really cheap raid 0 ssd instead of a bigger one because it was dirt cheap, and it is faster. The enthoo pro was a great eatx case

This is ridiculous money here, I certainly would do this differently if it was my own rig, but it's a good one none the less.

I chose the 5960X because it's bigger and better than the 5930K, and that's all that matters.

The CPU cooler I picked because it give great performance, and it looks awesome at the same time.

I went for two SSDs to be put in RAID 0 for increased performance and two HDDs in RAID 1 for extra safety of data.

Three MSI 980s are suitable I feel for this build. They've a semi-passive mode and are slightly smaller than dual slot cards so the middle and top cards will have greater breathing room when in SLI.

The case I picked as it suits this style of system, a showboating case really that shows off the good stuff and hides the ugly stuff.

Keyboard is just one of the cheaper mechanical keyboards, but it's still an outstanding one none the less. I didn't choose the K70 RGB as it's an excessive amount of money for the ability to change colours, but I suppose if it was wanted it could be bought. The mouse was picked as I've got one myself and I trust it a lot.

Remember a wise man once said, "You'll most likely hear/see more bad reviews from products than good, because if they get a good product, they won't bother to write a review, and if they got a bad product, they'll complain about the product" ~ SoftenButterCream

I considered the case to be one of the most important features as that is how Alienware is pushing sales on the Area-51 (see this vid:

).  The Area-51 features a unique design focusing on angling the hot exhaust air up and away.  Alienware were also boasting about the built in carry handles and sturdy construction.  When looking for a case with these unique features, there was one case manufacturer which came to mind: Silverstone.  They have been doing the 90 degree rotation for quite some time now with the FT02 being the nicest IMHO.

This is not completed. The finishing touch is a custom loop with the remaining cash. I'm just currently on my mobile and so can't finish as that part is done outside of PC part picker.

Alienware includes O/S but general rules indicate that one is not necessary and outline for this week does not say either way. So, O/S required?

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Here is my build compared to the Alienware 51:

CPU: 5960x which can handle 4 way sli better.

Cooler: IMO one of the best looking and best performing air cooler out there.

Motherboard: It has 8 channel memory and quad SLI support and the reliability of Gigabyte.

Memory: A simple black 2600mHz 2x8 kit from Mushkin.

Storage: a 512GB SSD compared to the 256GB on the Alienware and 6 TB of HDD that you can even get more if you need to.

Alienware includes O/S but general rules indicate that one is not necessary and outline for this week does not say either way. So, O/S required?

OS is optional. Sorry i will fix the rule page.

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.
