Featured Build Logs Competition #002 - Submission Thread

Whaler_99

Welcome to what is a regular feature now on LinusTechTips - Feature Build Logs.

Feel free to submit your build log to be eventually voted on and the winner featured on the WAN Show.

The thread will be open for about a month, or until at least 7 submissions are entered.

RULES

A few basic rules...

1 - Only submit your own build log. You cannot submit if you have won in the past three months.
2 - Your build must be completed. Do not submit "In Progress" builds.
3 - Description cap of about 200 words.
4 - Do not include specs, please have a detailed list of specs in your actual Build Log thread.
5 - Please do not re-submit a Build if it is currently being voted on. If it doesn't win, you can re-submit on the next submission thread.
6 - Please do not use the attachment function for your images. Attachments don't get ported between posts, so when we make the voting thread, this makes things rather difficult. Instead use image tags like so:

[img=http://url.to/your-image.jpeg]

7 - Please only post a single image - so make sure it is a good one.

^ All invalid submissions will be ignored ^

Accepted submissions will be moved to new a "voting" version of the thread. The top voted system will be featured on the WAN show or in the after party. One other submitted system will also be picked by “the staff" (Linus, Slick and Mods).

Build title: White Heaven

Thread URL: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/271164-white-heaven-endermans-s340-modbuild-log/

Description: This was a constantly evolving build, having started out as a budget sub-$1000 build, and eventually turning into what I consider a work of art. With a white colour scheme in mind, I immediately upgraded my case to an S340, and began modding the case and components to fit a white+black colour scheme. White plastidip, white paint, white carbon fibre vinyl, white fans and cables, all helped make this build a dream come true.

Build Title: Loramentum

Thread URL: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/128679-loramentum-a-watercooled-wall-mounted-rig-completed-better-final-pics-page-34-updated-201114/

Description: Loramentum is a watercooled, wall mounted yet portable rig. The whole thing can be nearly packed into a specifically designed flight case in order to be taken to LANs and shows. The cooling channels and reservoir are built into the main chassis, which is a custom designed and machined piece of acrylic. Every power cable is built from scratch and numerous parts (like the RAM and waterblocks) are gold plated.

It was a blast to make, definitely worth all the time, effort and toil.

Build Title: Brenda/ Envy MK II
Thread URLhttp://linustechtips.com/main/topic/216902-envy-mk-ii-caselabs-mercury-s8-complete-with-photos/
Description: Brenda or Envy is a custom watercooled computer! It uses rigid acrylic inside of a modded Caselabs Mercury S8 Case. I have tried to keep the build as clean as possible with quick tubing runs and custom braided cables! It has got two Alphacool nexXxos Monsta radiators (240mm and 360mm) cooling the components of the computer! I love my build very much! Please take a look at the other images in the thread as the single photo I can show doesn't do the build complete justice!

Build Title: G3
Thread URL: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/282846-fuzzys-g3/
Description:
this is my Power Mac G3 case mod build log. It doesn't have fancy pictures, high end hardware, or even a discrete GPU at this point because of lack of funds, but I think it shows what can be done in this case, and even though cable management is terrible, the cooling properties are about the same as my old case with much lower noise output thanks to the double layer construction, and the higher thickness of the metal. I really enjoyed building with it, and hope to do something like this again.

Build Title: Open for suggestions
Thread URLhttp://linustechtips.com/main/topic/251321-homemade-custom-fully-open-case-4790k-r9-290-now-with-better-pics/
Description: I didn't find a case I liked, so I built my own! It's made from 1.5 mm cold rolled steel with a clear lacquer satin finish. Cooling is excellent as you may expect and it's not a complete dustmagnet as people seem to think.

I'm currently working on an improved version which will be cnc laser cut from stainless steel and probably for sale.

Thread URL:http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/277270-macbook-pro-with-a-gtx-980-setup-guide-benchmarks-egpu-setup-windows-81/
Description: I loved the portability of my mac, but always wanted to game at ultra settings. I decided to create an eGPU setup to still have the portability of a laptop, with a powerful gaming setup at home. It may not be the prettiest thing, but it certainly is unique.

Build Title: Needs more vcore
Thread URLlinustechtips.com/main/topic/273368-completed-needs-more-vcore-custom-watercooled-define-r5/
Description: This is my slightly ghetto entry. It packs some nice hardware, nice aesthetics & is pretty close to silent. I've had a little bit of fun overclocking too, top 100 3dmark ultra results (when the single graphics card filter is turned on) which is pretty nice with an i5.
