24" 144Hz G-sync or 1440p IPS?

Justhavocman

I'm between a used  AOC G2460PG( 270€) and an Asus PB278QR(500€)  , the GPU i'll be using is either a 970 or a 390 (waiting for CES to shed some light into that) , is 1440p really worth that premium price?

Its all down to the games you play. I do play csgo competitively , but mostly play other stuff so i went the 1440p ips route .Its gorgeous 99% or the time but when i get killed in csgo by my friend that has a rog swift i kinda wish i went with that but thats only 1% of the time ( also rog swift is 50% more expensive than my bl2710pt )

I own a PB278Q, but as some others on the side have pointed out, it uses PWM dimming which may strain your eyes.  It has no issues for me, but just keep that in mind.  For me, I cannot pay so much for a TN, I play tactical/milsim games where twitch reactions are unnecessary, so it is no issue.

Honestly, once I went IPS, I don't think I can go back.

Also, 1440p is AMAZING for productivity, web browsing, etc.

Sincerely now , i dont know why people are pushing to buy 4k monitors since the content is not there yet. Not even for 1440p. Most of the stuff is capped at 1080p , most youtubers use 720p . In games colours look great , skyrim didnt even need extra mods for saturation because the amazing coulours were already there.

Pb278qr ( notice the R ) fixes that , it no longer uses pwm. For a list of best/worst 1440p monitors check this http://wecravegamestoo.com/forums/monitor-reviews-discussion/15027-best-27-monitors-2014-2560x1440-ahva-ips-pls.html#post1219700

Taking into consideration the games mentioned above , would any sort of input lag affect my gameplay? I mean even a benq bl2710pt with its not so ideal input lag would be considered a good choice?
