[Build Log] Vulpes - Parvum Systems S2.0 Custom Acrylic Tubed Watercooling mATX PC

Random_her0

Here is a Orange+White+Black one I made. Hopefully the orange color is right. If it isn't I can change it.

The first order has arrived, and it included (most of) the fittings I'll be using for this build. After making this order I had an idea for something I really wanted to try that would require some 45-degree extension fittings so I went ahead and ordered them with a lot of other key components. I expect that to arrive in a week or so, and I'll update this post accordingly.

Bitspower continues to impress me with their fittings. I promise that if they look good they look even better in person. The quality is also top-notch; just my feel you can tell these are high-end.

That's all for this update, should have another one coming soon when the next package arrives which will include some smaller bits and bobs, additional fittings and a couple of integral parts of a custom loop ;)

Update 2!

2nd order is now here, and included was a mish-mash of bits and bobs I need or may need for the build. The most important things to arrive were the XSPC radiators I'll be using. Originally, I had intended to purchase EK Coolstreams but I have used these radiators in the past and they are great for dismantling and painting if need be.

The PCI-E extension cable is also quite interesting. I don't plan on mounting the GPU traditionally, so I needed something to give me flexibility and believe this is it. It's powered, however, which is ugly and unnecessary so I well get rid of the molex.

The fan splitter is fairly straightforward. I'll be mounting it out of view in the rear section of the case (TBA soon) and use it to tidy things up, basically.

Enjoy  :)

Update 3!

Cat's officially out of the bag. I'll be building this inside a Parvum Systems S2.0 (modified). I strongly urge you to check out their site as they produce some wonderful things and will basically mod to your own specifications. http://www.parvumsystems.com/

For those unfamiliar with the brand, they actually actually the case that has been shown at the beginning of some of the more recent LTT videos, advertising the "Coolermaster Case Mod Series".

I'll have some more full shots of the case soon, but I thought I'd outline what I had done to mine.

1) 240mm to 360mm extension. This lengthens the case and allows installation of a 360mm rad up top, rather than a 240mm rad.

2) Custom front 120mm fan vent. You'll recognize this from the logos I posted previously.

3) Glass side-panel etching. Once again, you should recognise this and see how it maintains the theme with the front panel.

4) mITX compatability mod. This is actually an mATX case, but I had parts for an mITX build ready to go, so that's what I opted for.

Communicating with them was a breeze, and I have no doubt I'll return to use them again; extremely satisfied with their work!

Anyway, the pics are below. enjoy! (As always, apologies for the potato pics)

Nope! As I mentioned above I have had the case extended, made compatible with mITX boards and also have a window etching which I'll get a photo of up tonight.

Update 4!

I need some help, pleaseeeee.

I compared the white colour of the case to that of the radiators and was not at all happy with the match. Colours that are similar but not the same clash horribly and the same is true of this, and so I've decided to paint the rads. I have two choices I'd like some help on, orange or black.

Now, when choosing the rad colour keep in mind the order of connected parts. The case interior is white, attached to this are white fans, the radiator then attaches next, out of the radiator are the the white Bitspower fittings and then the orange coolant.

I'm worried that with an orange radiator the coolant/rad combo might be a bit much and not match perfectly. Oppositely, I'm worried that with black radiators there may not be enough orange in the build (though with the res there probably will be).

Let me know which you prefer :)

OMG I didn't even read it, I was so picture hungry hahaha. It looks amazing, can't wait to see it finished! :)

Edit: I automatically like the black colour for rads, though I think orange would work better in this case.

The black would just look more out of place than the orange.

I'm really having a hard time working out which would look better so I'm doing what I didn't really want to do and entirely spraying both rads; 1 orange, 1 black. I'll then install them and take some pics to get a better idea of which suits the case best.

Added additional photos to the 'Radiator Painting' update. I'd really like your thoughts on which is better.

At the moment I'm leaning towards orange. It actually matches the orange of the case much more closely than I anticipated and it doesn't look overwhelming. The pictures above were taken with only a few coats as I didn't want to go crazy if I was simply going to repaint them, which is why you can still see the XSPC logo coming through slightly.

When I finish the painting I plan on adding the Vulpes logo along the side of each radiator in black (if I do in fact opt for orange radiators). I believe this will look really nice, and continue with the theme which I'm liking more and more every time I check out the case.

Mini update!

Actually received these with the case but finally got around to taking some pics. These are Parvum's own fans, and they look beautiful. They are SP optimized, low noise fans and are made of a soft plastic texture to minimize vibrations. Full disclosure: I haven't actually tested them yet so I can't confirm how low noise they truly are, but I'll definitely do some testing.

I really like the white frame ones with the black blades and base but in my personal opinion, I think that the black frame with the orange accents would look much better in that case, with the way you have things set up so far.

I think that a white frame with the orange accents would look the best but unfortunately Alpenföhn does not make those.

Parvum makes some beautiful cases. I want to get an X1.0 but there's so much room in it for mITX, I would be forced to go way over budged to pack some water cooling in it ;) Also, this an awesome build log so far, how can you get them to do custom cuts like that?
