Computer Build

Go to solution Solved by Horrorfull,

I am planing on building a computer to replace a  year old ailenware aurora with a intel core i7 930, and I want a recommended power supply with enough wattage for the components and for future expansion and the budget is $139.99. Also, please put the retailer.

BUILD

Motherboard - MSI h97 Guard-PRO

CPU - Intel Core i7-4790

CPU Cooler - Corsair H60

RAM - G.SKILL F3-1866C9D-16GSR

PSU - ???????????????????

GPU - SAPPHIRE Radeon R9 280x TRI-x OC

SSD - Crucial MX100 256 GB

HDD - x2 Western Digital Caviar Blue 1tb

SSHD - WD Black² (yes, I have to add one)

Case - Corsair Carbide SPEC-02 RED LED

DVD Drive - ASUS 24x DRW-24b1st/blk/b/as

OS - Windows 8.1 (I do hate Windows 7 thanks for asking)

140mm Fan - Corsair CO-9050024-WW Air Series SP140 Red LED

NOTE: all the components are from Newegg.ca but the case is from CanadaComputers.

What are you using it for exactly? Budget?

I reccommend getting an unlocked CPU since it only costs a couple bucks more plus the benefits of overclocking are vast.

Ram is a bit overkill but I personally like having a lot of ram. So up to you

Your storage solution seems a bit overkill. I recommend not buying two mechanical drives and buy more SSDs. More space in the case but that's alittle pricey.

Do you really need an optical drive? Why do you have to have a SSHD - WD Black?

yeah, put this all on pcpartpicker to find best prices, and post it.

Also, listen to the posts you're going to get soon. I dont have time to set up a system in pcpartpicker, but that 16GB ram is overkill, as is the i7. The H60 is also not much better than a cheaper air cooler. 8GB DDR3 1600, Z97 Motherboard, and an i5 4690K will give you more bang for your buck.

I am assuming you are going to be gaming and maybe making the occasional video or streaming in that recommendation.

I am going to be using it for gaming and video recording and editing. The budget is $1750 - $2000. on newegg.ca, the 4790k is $60 more then the 4790 and i am not going to be overclocking the cpu, but I may overclock the RAM and the GPU. I am buying more mechanical drives then SSDs for price. I need a optical drive for installing windows and some games  I buy are in a DVD. I want to get a SSHD for more storage and is $40 cheaper then buying a another MX100  and it gives more storage then 2 MX100s
