so virgin media have just send me a letter!

okay so today i received a letter from my broadband provider saying my bill rise by £4.39 per month... i already wasn't happy with this, they said the reason for this was the previous ( FREE ) upgrade to the network.. if its free why am i paying for it? this is for every virgin media customer I do believe.

Consider switching provider?

Do that.

Lols! virgin tryin' to fu*k you over! :D

#datpun

That's awesome.

You could probably complain but you'd also probably lose. Are you sure they haven't mentioned a bill rise before now?

Sig under construction.

I haven't seen mine go up for a while, I'll have a look when I get home. What service do you have with them? Just broadband or some TV package as well?

Weird, I'll dig out a few older bills and see if it's gone up. Normally I just get letters from them trying to sell me a phone or something.

im looking at plusnet atm

Never head of them, chances are your ISP is better than mine ($70+ a month for 10Mbps, that gets throttled all the time). Love that avatar btw, know that feels.

Just been onto Virgin's website, ordered the "free" upgrade. Let's see how much free upgrade really is from them.

Virgin Media are considerably better than BT/Sky though...

if they didnt constantly try conning people, the speed is good and stable but the price is stupid, just keeps going up!

Call them back and ask how much your speed will go up for every month that the price goes up. When they say "it wont" say "so....what incentive are you giving me to not go with another company again?"

They did this twice to me.

"Your broadband speeds will be increased for FREE! But your bills will be going up. Standard procedure. Richard Branson master race lel"

I hope they go and fuck themselves because it's seriously stupid what they do.

Is there any good provider here in UK at all ?

I had Virgin Media for several years in 3 different addresses and there has always been problem with the stability of the connection. Every month there would be several hours of downtime for my area and even youtube throttling at certain times !

Cant complain about cost/speed ratio. Their pricing is pretty reasonable.

Now im stuck with Plusnet's 16mb connection .... fml i dont wanna live anymore

No ISP in the UK has good 100% uptime. I thought my Virgin media connection was unstable, compared to what I have with BT right now, it was amazing stability. I'm with BT and I get 5 second dropouts every other hour, whereas with virgin and the more-suited-for-broadband-than-a-bloody-phone-line cable connection dropped out weekly if that.

I have plusnet fibre and it is awesome.  Switched from TalkTalk so my standards were exactly high, but plusnet is the way forward!

Im on 16mb talk talk now :( but have to say its stable. Hardly any downtime, but its ADSL or w/e not fibre.

Virgin was always down for at least 30 minutes (up to few hours) monthly and occasionally twice a month.

I had BT for couple of months and had few downtimes.
