Corsair CX600 Enough for a r9 290?

Moldy

I'm planning on building a new PC soon, and basically i'm wondering if a CX600 will be enough for an I5 4570 and a R9 290 combo.I would like to OC the GPU aswell.I've heard so many conflicting opinions on the subject so i thought i'd post it here, see what people think.

I would say no. I had a g600w from CM and a 290x with 4440 and i ran into multiple crashes due to PSU not supplying enff power

To overclock? Probably not :/ Otherwise, you'll be very borderline with the 600w

Specs: CPU: AMD FX 6300 Motherboard: Gigabyte 970A DS3P RAM: HyperX Fury 16GB 1866MHz GPU: MSI R9 270 OC edition Case: Sharkoon VS3-S SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB HDD: 1TB Caviar Blue PSU: Corsair CX500W

I would suggest spending it on the EVGA G2 750 watts.

That's silly overkill for any single gpu.

It's plenty even for oc'ing. http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2014/03/11/sapphire-radeon-r9-290x-tri-x-oc-review/8

What about 550w for a R9 290 and an I5? Non-overclocked.

A good 550w is plenty for any single gpu system.

Would a 80+ bronze XFX be classed as good?

If you're referring to the TS 550, yes.

It's better built than the cx600 but I would personally get the cx600 for the quieter fan or end up replacing the fan in the XFX psu.

Instead of the cx600?

It doesn't really matter much. Both could do the job and have the pros/cons that I mentioned earlier which sort of balance each other out.
