Blue screen when installing Windows XP

Johnny K.

I took the responsibility of building a new computer for my father's office 'cause his old one was about to die judging by the sound of its HD.

Also, he's an accountant and the computer is crucial for his job.

The specs are:

Intel Core i3 540

Nvidia GT 430

4gb RAM (1 module)

Gigabyte ga-h55m-ud2h

WD Scoprio Black 500gb

And a low quality 500W PSU (just some old parts, they're all tested in my pc, they're fine)

FYI the old one had a single core Athlon running at 1.5GHz and a GeForce2 MX 400 w/ 64mb vram

So as the title says, this happened

I know that i need the SATA drivers to install them on a SATA hard drive but they are included with this copy of Windows which btw is a pirated copy but i don't think that it matters.

I told him that there's a problem and that i'll be figuring it out soon. He fucking mad at me! Please help:)

You are silly. hah.

As a guy working in IT and dealing with various pieces of software, I can guarantee you that even LARGE companies have that issue, where the software only works in XP due to compatability issues.

Reinstalling windows is nothing difficult so why send it to someone? Granted, piracy isn't the way forward, but its better to be with a pirated windows than with no windows at all.

No one is way over their heads.

OP, try re seating the ram or putting the ram in a different slot. Test the hardware in a different PC if you can.

See if that helps.

Many people here don't know enough about what goes on in larger corporations and that not everyone is running the latest tech.

Look at recent air traffic control system that glitched recently in the uk, they were running a software from the bloody 1960's.

Even the UK government has spent £5.5m to microsoft to extend the support for XP, because their shit only works in XP.

Well your Government maybe but not Large Companies. Any software that is worth its salt is up to date. So don't give me the IT route I don't by it. For the OP I realize your in trouble and I can relate. When I was young I messed up many systems. Pirating XP is bad. To many bad copies out there. Find another way or get a better copy. If its a OEM sometimes you can get system disks for cheap E bay. Still not legal but at least its not loaded with malware
