GTX 770 2gb reference good for 2560x1080?

alby800

How good would this card do at 2560x1080p?

I will playing games such as:

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (fuck off if you are going to judge me, it is fun)
  • Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (again, fuck off if you are going to judge me)
  • Far Cry 4 (Haven't got it yet, but it looks decent)
  • The Crew (Haven't got it yet, but it looks decent)
  • BattleField 4 (maybe, don't have it yet)
  • and other games like Gmod, and other stuff

Settings don't really matter as long as it doesn't look shit, so maybe high-ultra, 60fps

So what do you think.

p.s. I don't have the card yet but I might be getting one from @melias24

this is the monitor that I am almost certain that I am getting

Ultra @60fps at that resolution is unlikely in most of those games. Medium @60 is a bit more realistic. Keep in mind the 770 is basically a 680..

Should do just fine. As always if you can cop up for more do it, but the 770 will do fine. You just wont be going 60fps minimum ultra 24/7... ;)

Not entirely accurate to what you will get, but some logical estimation:

1080p = 2,073,600 pixels (benchmark, 100% performance)

2560x1080 = 2,764,800 pixels (33% more pixels, 75% performance)

1440p = 3,686,400 pixels (78% more pixels, 56% performance)

So for example if I get 100fps on 1080p, I could expect to see around 75fps at 2560x1080?

Also, do you think that it would be a DOWNGRADE from a XFX R9 280x DD black edition?

I know it wouldn't be an upgrade, but would it hurt much because if I do get it then it would be aesthetics only pretty much

You mean you already have an R9 280X?

Then getting a GTX 770 2GB would be pretty much a downgrade if playing at a higher resolution.

Because is has less VRAM for framebuffer.

Yup. I want it for the aesthetics. We'll in that case I might save up a bit more and see if I could get a titan used or a 780 or something.

I really want dat sexy reference :P

I would except a 970 with a reference cooler is near impossible to find, especially in Australia :(

@huilun02, it is not particularly the blower style I want, I have just always wanted one of the reference NVidia cards, with the Geforce logo and the beautiful metal shroud, it is stunning.

I would kill for one.

But anyway thank you for all the help, I don't think I will get the 770, I will wait and possibly get a used titan or a new/used 780/780ti/970 with a sexy reference cooler, or maybe if I am lucky I could find a gtx 980 with reference for a killer price etc.

:D

@MeepLikesToBuildPc's's yup I know, the build that I was saving up for (before I realised it would take me a million years) had a reference 780, i7 4770k, 16Gbs RAM, Asus Z87 Pro/Sabretooth/Gigabyte Sniper z87 (hadn't decided), Thermaltake Chaser A31 (I know I was more noob then) and a RM850, as I had planned to go sli, but it would've costed me more than $2.5K

So I am glad with what I have.

But I plan to upgrade to a Corsair Air 240, purple sleeved cables, some Corsair AF/SP120 purple LEDs, Corsair H75 (and paint the ring purple) and a 2tb HDD, mostly aesthetics, but whatever
