Does anyone have recommendations for this build?

ignito

So i have an computer with some older reused parts from an HP Pavillion(GM441AA-ABA m8125x) in it which my brother threw together a year ago, and i was looking into building a new computer to replace it because performance isn't all too great for gaming imo, and i want to run newer games on at least High settings. My budget lays around $1000-$1200 CDN. Im getting a new monitor(in pcpartpicker link), and using that as my main one, along with my old monitor (below) as a secondary monitor on the side. Also would it be possible to even have a dual monitor setup with monitors that have different resolution, or would it be better to just get two of the newer monitor? Oh, and I'm going to reuse the Case, Sound Card, and DVD Drive.

Here are my old pc specs.

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4Ghz

GPU: XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB

RAM: 4GB DDR2-800Mhz (3.5GB usable)

MOBO: ??? P5BW-LA

HDD: Samsung HD400LJ

DVD: ATAPI DVD A DH16A1L

PSU: Dynex 500W (DX-PS500W)

OS: Windows Vista SP2 (32-bit)

Monitor: HP w1907 (1440x900 16:10)

Sound: Creative Audigy SB 2

Case: Cooler Master Elite 430

new build is solid other than the locked cpu with z97 board :D try and get a 4690k. also try and pick out a better psu, there are great options that are much better for near the same price point ^_^

4690K // 212 EVO // Z97-PRO // Vengeance 16GB // GTX 770 GTX 970 // MX100 128GB // Toshiba 1TB // Air 540 // HX650

Logitech G502 RGB // Corsair K65 RGB (MX Red)

if your planning for this to be primarily a gaming system you dont need 16gb of ram 8gb will do just fine. You could possibly use the savings from that to step your cpu up to a i5-4690k

would a 4690k provide that much of a difference in performance compared to the 4460? i dont really plan on doing any overclocking, at least not anytime soon, but if i were to oc, would the asrock z97 extreme 3 be good for that or would there be a better board for that
